Tracy K. Smith

Tracy K. Smith received the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Poetry for her third collection, Life on Mars, published by Graywolf Press. She served as the 22nd Poet Laureate of the United States from 2017-2019. Her collections of poetry also include The Body’s Question, Duende, Wade in the Water, and, most recently, Such Color: New and Selected Poems (Graywolf, 2021). Her memoir, Ordinary Light, was published in 2015. She taught at Princeton for many years and is now professor of English and African and African American Studies at Harvard, where she received her B.A.
