Alma García is a writing teacher, manuscript consultant, and violin instructor. Her fiction has appeared as an award-winner in Narrative Magazine, Passages North, Boulevard and elsewhere; has appeared most recently in Kweli Journal, Duende, Enizagam, and Bluestem; and has been anthologized in Roadside Curiosities: Short Stories on American Pop Culture. She is currently in the final stages of revising a novel set on the Texas/Mexico border (Shallow Waters), which she has worked on for more than a decade. She lives in Seattle with her husband and son.
