Sharan Strange
poetry
Sharan Strange was raised in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She studied at Harvard College and earned her M.F.A. at Sarah Lawrence College. She is the author of the poetry collection Ash (Beacon Press, 2001), which was selected by Sonia Sanchez for the Barnard Women Poets Prize. She is a founding member of the Dark Room Collective. She has received numerous honors and awards including fellowships from MacDowell and Yaddo. She teaches creative writing at Spelman College.
