The Value of Support

"While I am proud of my accomplishments as a writer, I cannot pretend that only my own hard work and perseverance led me here. I am indebted to the women writers who carved a path so that my own voice could find an audience, and I am indebted to the mentors who opened doors I didn’t even know existed or didn’t dare dream could open before me. The Rona Jaffe Foundation not only opened these doors, but also introduced me to a community of writers eager to champion each other’s work. I am not interested in success if I can’t bring a community with me, and this is one of which I am particularly proud to belong."
